Area Rugs Online
We looked at many stores for area rugs and finally found some online that caught our eye. Most of the online retailers offer free shipping which is great since the rugs are so darn heavy. Try lifting one, they are deceiving. When you purchase a rug if you have hardwood floors like us you need to get a rubber sheet that goes in between the floor and the rug. I had no idea about this and what this does is stop the rug from sliding around on the floor, it keeps it in place. Anyway we are very happy with our new rug.
Is It Time To Buy Las Vegas Condos
To buy a condo in Las Vegas is the right time. We were there a few weeks back and they are practically giving them away. Condos that used to sell for $300K are now going for $185K. Last year we almost bought some property in Henderson up in the Madera canyon area. This is a beautiful area that has some great views of the Vegas skyline.
The only question now is should we wait a few more months to see if prices go down more. I’m thinking the bottom of the housing market will not happen for another 4-5 months. I think the same condo that is selling for $185K will probably sell for $165K by then. The problem with new condos is that the owners have bank loans that are kicking in and they need to sell some units to make the payments on their loans. So selling way under is just a need to survive for the owners and they will make there money back when the market rebounds in a year or so.
Backyard One Year Later
We have a beautiful backyard with 21 tress, most are a type of pine but we also a handful of white birch. IMO, tress are what make a yard. We spent more money than we thought and went with the mature trees that have been growing for a while. If you have ever been in a backyard where people plant the little ‘baby tress’ it doesn’t look as nice.
For our lawn we went with sod and it took a while for the lawn to really grow in. A few months ago our gardner suggested that he use a lawn aerator on our lawn. He explained this would provide the grass with a better soil drainage and encourages worms to grow. We also have a few spots on our grass where the dogs have dug holes. He has laid down some grass seed to help fill in the areas. Today the lawn is looking much better.
The concrete we had laid looks great! We used a colored concrete so it doesn’t look like the gray stuff you see elsewhere. We have a small crack in one part but other than that the concrete is looking good. Since we have so many pine trees this year for Christmas we are going to decorate some of them, I cannot wait.
